The Future of Professional Communication

The Future of Professional Communication
In the future, the communication for professionals will change quite significantly. Below are some of the factors and related impact on future professional communication:
Improvement in technology: Professional communication in future will influence due to change in the technology. Communication process will become easy because of the use of advanced technology in communication. It will help the professionals to communicate with customer and stakeholders more easily. Professional will enable to easily transfer their ideas, policies, and opinion to others and will be able to take decisions more effectively. Technology will be the major aspect of communication, which will enable the professionals to communicate liabilities and roles clearly to subordinates that would improve their efficiency (Sarkar, 2012).
Friendly/informal environment: The future communication will be more informal and friendly due to increasing concern on the employees in decision making.  An informal communication will be placed to make the roles and responsibilities clearer and to improve their contribution in the organizational growth. The professionals will encourage the employees and other people to communicate more frequently for getting the new ideas to make the competitive strategies for the increasing competition in future (Dwyer, 2013).

New trends of social media: In future, social media will be one of the major sources of professional communication due to continuously increasing use of the social media among the people. It will create a good relationship between professionals and customers. The social media will be used by the professionals in order to easily communicate with customers upon the product or other issues so that better products/services can be developed with an improvement in the organizational competitiveness (Dwyer, 2013).
The above are the major factors, which will change the way of future professionals’ communication and will make it more open and flexible to include all the stakeholders.

Common Misunderstandings in Contemporary Communication

In the current environment, the role of effective communication has increased for the professionals due to increasing need of including all stakeholders and to make them aware for the organizational objectives and aspects. But at the same time, the evolution of the communication mediums creates the misunderstanding between the senders and receivers. Misunderstanding is a situation, where the communication is not understood in a proper way and that affect the process of effective communication. There are several barriers and factors related to the psychology, perception and views of the people for the communication, which create some misunderstanding in the communication (Schultze, and Badzinski, 2015). Below are some of the major misunderstandings in the contemporary communication:
The other person will understand, if I would communicate:
Most of the time, people do not have a clear understanding for a message, but they communicate it with others by making a presumption that, if they will say to another person, he/she will understand this. It is a misunderstanding as a person with lack of understanding the message cannot be able to communicate it to others effectively. For this, it is essential to assure that the meaning of the message is understood as intended.
The more or louder communication is better:
It is also a common misunderstanding in the contemporary communication. In current, people think if they will communicate more and repeatedly and in a louder voice, their message will be understood more clearly and effectively (Keshavarzi, 2011). It is not true as it does not mean that if the other person is silent, he/she understands the message.
Communication solves the problem at any time:

Communication is not taken as an effective way of solving the problem and people think that communication will make the argument worse, so they leave the situation (Schultze, and Badzinski, 2015).

Along with this, speaking in another language is also misunderstood as the indicator of an effective communication in the contemporary communication, while it may affect the significant of the message understanding.
I liked this video as it shows the trouble I have managing customers at my restaurant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHA-6z5ku1s

How to Remove Message “Noise”

How to Remove Message “Noise”
Noise is anything that distracts the communication between the sender and receiver and consequently affects the clarity of the message. In other words, noise is anything that interfaces with the messages between the professionals. It is a common barrier in the communication. As the noise affects the message clarity, there is a need for the professionals to remove the noise in messages and make it clearer for the receivers. In order to this, the language used in the communication should be simple, understandable and as per the level of the receiver in terms of language, technique etc (Loewy and Guffey, 2015).  It is because a clear and straightforward language eliminates confusion and misinterpretation by making the message clearer.

Along with this, the use of idioms phrases and other languages should also be avoided as these also create an issue of less understanding among the people. Along with this, noise can also be removed in the communication and message by using the appropriate source of the interface between the receiver and sender. It is because the lack of appropriate source also creates noise issue and consequently the understanding of the message by the receiver (Newberry and Conrad, 2011). Another way is to use two different means of communication in a professional context such as written and oral, which will also be effective to avoid the issue of noise in the message. One communication way can create misunderstanding and negative emotions but two communication ways cannot create any distraction between the sender and receiver and will enable to ensure the clarity of the message (Loewy and Guffey, 2015). Along with the, the time should also be considered while communicating by ensuring that receiver is free and focused for listening to the message.

As I was saying that being a supervisor in a foreign country and having sub-ordinates from various country creates a language barrier. Though we use English to communicate still that’s not enough to make them understand exactly what I want. Sometimes I had to use sign or gesture to make them to work. We all have trouble saying exact English words or sometimes they don’t understand those words too. I use my point finger to device and show a demo to explain the process of making coffee or washing dish in machine.

Importance of Logical Planning in Communication

Importance of Logical Planning in Communication
Logical planning plays an important role in communication because through the logical planning, communicators enable to identify the best ways of communication and the possible issues. It is imperative for effective communication because it enables to monitor all the factors of communication, which can disturb the communication. The lack of logical planning may make the communication meaningless and ineffective due to the inappropriate audience, inappropriate time etc aspects (Fischhoff, Brewer and Downs, 2012).

Logical planning in the professional communication also helps in reducing the risk of uncertainty and gap in effective communication and to make the appropriate strategies for ensuring the communication of message in the desired way. Logical planning is supportive in reducing the complexity of the communication because through the logical planning, communicators enable to choose the most appropriate resources of the communication, which can be attractive and more understandable for the audience (Fischhoff, Brewer and Downs, 2012).
The logical planning in communication will make the communication more flexible and focused.
It will help the professionals for presenting their message in a very easy way because it creates the best understanding regarding the communication among the receivers. Logical planning is also vital for saving the time of the communicator because with the help of logical planning communicators enable to arrange all the sources and material for effective communication (Conrad and Newberry, 2011). A logical planning is also important for effective communication as it enables to identify the audience and to make the communication strategy accordingly. It helps to facilitate an effective communication between the receiver and the sender that is the indicator of an effective communication (Conrad and Newberry, 2011). Along with this, a logical planning also enables the professionals to manage all the resources, which are required for an effective communication and message without any noise.
I work as a manager in a chain food shop and I have to manage my sub-ordinates effectively. Sometimes I face difficult situation and I had to change plan to overcome it. To present my plan to my fellow members I had to think and say in a way that everyone understands what I want them to do next. I had to come up with logical approach to say it.
